PHILADELPHIA WINGS BEGIN PRESEASON PRACTICES
The Philadelphia Wings, of the National Lacrosse League, begin weekly preseason practices Wednesday, November 17 at 9 p.m. at the United Sports Training Center in Downingtown, PA.
The preseason schedule is highlighted by a four-way scrimmage on Saturday, December 4, beginning at 12 p.m. and continuing through 8 p.m. with the Wings, Albany Attack, Pittsburgh Crosse-Fire and New York Saints.
Regular practices are held on Wednesday evenings (9 p.m.) at the United Sports Training Center and Saturday mornings (10 a.m.) at The Peddie School throughout the months of November and December. The 2000 season roster will be finalized throughout the preseason practices and announced sometime in December.
The Philadelphia Wings open their millenium season on Friday, January 7, when they host the expansion Albany Attack at the First Union Center, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Season tickets can be reserved by calling (215) 389-WINGS. To United Sports Training Center: I-95 S to 322 W. Make a left onto Rt. 1. Follow Rt. 1 to US 202 intersection. At intersection, bear right onto 202 N. Follow to Rt. 322 (W) Exit. Turn left onto Hall Rd. At dead end, turn right onto Marshallton-Thorndale and follow to traffic light (Poorhouse Rd.). After light, USTC will be on left.
To The Peddie School: Take the NJ Turnpike to Exit 8. Follow Rt. 33 W to the first traffic light. Turn left onto Maxwell; go straight and turn right at Ward St. Make a left at next stop sign. Make first left onto Etra Rd., follow to the Athletic Center. Fields are located behind Center.
