JIM ROGERS NAMED TEAM CAPTAIN FOR 2000 SEASON

Philadelphia Wings General Manager Steve Govett appointed eight-year veteran Jim Rogers as captain for the 2000 season, it was announced today.

"Rodge has always been a leader of this team whether it’s on the field or off," said Govett. "He leads by example and with his work ethic. This team loves him and respects him."

Ten-year veteran Kevin Finneran, Jake Bergey and John McEvoy will serve as alternate captain for this season.

Finneran is expected to tie an indoor lacrosse record when he plays in his 96th consecutive game on Friday, January 7, when the Wings host the expansion Albany Attack at the First Union Center, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
