"World Wrestling Federation Night at the Wings" isn't until Saturday, when the Wings host the Rochester Knighthawks at the First Union Center.
But the National Lacrosse League team got in the spirit early, with a 16-15 loss Saturday in Pittsburgh that had some elements of a rasslin' script.
There was teammate-turned-foe Gary Gait, posting two goals and four assists for the CrosseFire.
There were the Wings (1-1) falling behind by five in the second quarter only to fight back to take a 15-13 lead with seven minutes left. Then the home team got goals from Kip Fulks and Neil Doddridge to tie the game, and Fulks won it with 27 seconds left.
Kevin Finneran, playing in his league-record 97th straight game, led the Wings (1-1) with two goals and four assists. Jake Bergey and Tom Marechek each scored three goals.
Fans attending the WWF's "Raw is War" tonight at the First Union Center can save $3 on a Wings ticket Saturday.
