WINGS ACQUIRE CHRIS PANOS FROM NEW YORK SAINTS
The Philadelphia Wings, of the National Lacrosse League, today acquired Chris Panos from the New York Saints in exchange for rookie Gewas Schindler and three-year veteran Andy Towers, it was announced today by Wings General Manager Steve Govett.
Chris gives us another goal scorer who can play on the left side, said Govett in making the announcement. He is a young quality athlete who will be with us for a long time.
Panos, the 6 0, 200-pound, Hofstra graduate, has accumulated 94 points (55 goals, 39 assists) in 36 regular season games, including 19 points (11 goals, eight assists) in eight games this season. He has also scored nine playoff points (3 goals, 6 assists) while playing for the Boston Blazers in his rookie season (l987). He has played for the Boston Blazers, the New York Saints, the Buffalo Bandits and the Baltimore Thunder during his four-year indoor lacrosse career.
The Wings (4-2) will next play on Saturday, March 18 at the Syracuse Smash before returning home to play the defending NLL Champion Toronto Rock at First Union Center on Saturday, March 25. Tickets to all remaining home games are on sale now at the arena box office and all Ticketmaster locations.
