CHRIS SANDERSON NAMED DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

WINGS FACE ROCK IN CRUCIAL HOME-AND-HOME SERIES THIS WEEKEND

Philadelphia Wings goalkeeper Chris Sanderson, who turned away 28 shots in the second half and led the Wings to a 12-11 victory over the Washington Power last Saturday, was today named the National Lacrosse League's Defensive Player of the Week.

The Wings close out the NLL season with a home-and-home series with the Toronto Rock on Friday, March 22 (in Toronto) and Saturday, March 23 (at the First Union Center).   If the Wings win both games they will qualify for the fifth seed in the NLL Playoffs and play either the Albany Attack or the Rochester Knighthawks.  If the Wings win one of two games, Albany must defeat the Montreal Express on Sunday and the Buffalo Bandits must win their game against the Washington Power on Saturday night in order for the Wings to secure the sixth and final playoff spot.

The Wings face the Toronto Rock at the First Union Center on Saturday, March 23 at 8 p.m.  Individual tickets are $27, $23, and $18 and are available at Ticketmaster locations throughout the Delaware Valley by calling (215) 336-2000 or (856) 338-9000 or on the web at www.ticketmaster.com.  Great lower level seats are still available. Birthday party packages, luxury suites and club box packages are all available by calling 215-389-WINGS.

The Philadelphia Wings are owned and operated by Philadelphia Wings, L.P., whose principal owners are Russ Cline and Michael French. Comcast-Spectacor serves as the marketing, promotional, advertising and publicity arm of the Wings.
