Darris Kilgour?

You are correct Sir!

Next question:

The 2001-2002 NLL season's very first game took place on 16 November 2001. It was also the expansion New Jersey Storm's inaugural game and took place against the Albany Attack in Albany. (I sat right across the aisle from NJ owner / manslaughterer Jayson Williams. He was a passionate fan.)

That game was also nationally televised....

On what network was it broadcast?

I think CNN/SI did the games that season.

Trivia Question #3: Wolfgang was the name of the Albany Attack mascot. Who wore the Wolfgang costume and what other mascots has this person been?

I believe first name was Mike. He was also the mascot for the Albany Diamond Dogs of the independent league in baseball. He was also Rowdy for the former Albany River Rats. I wish I could remeber his last name because I met him and there was a article in the Times Union about him a while back.

You are correct, my friend!!!

The guy's name is Michael Springstead. Here is a good article on him:

Trivia Question #4: Who scored the game-winning goal against the Albany Attack in the 2002 Champion's Cup game? Bonus points: What is ironic about that?

Sorry, but it's too easy.

Darryl Gibson.

He was dumped by the Attack the year before.

Trivia Question #5: For what bank did Herb Chorbajian work?

CharterOne Bank. How did he ever get approved as an owner anyway? He did not seem like he had enough capital to susstain a team for any length of time without instant success. It's too bad the Albany ownership did not have deeper pockets to allow for improved growth and attendance (if that was possible in the Albany market). Maybe the Attack would still be in the league. BTW: They had cool uniforms, I'll give them that. ;)

Well, Herb was probably one of the last old-school owners before JJ became Commissioner. He was a banker and did have the bucks. His being a banker though and not actually ever having been in the sports business before didn't help. There were some other fiscal factors that were beyond his control that did not help the Attack. Basically, the franchise was practically doomed from the start which is a real shame.

BTW: They had cool uniforms, I'll give them that. ;)

I think so too - I really do love it which sucks that I've lost my favorite sweatshirt and hat....

Anyway, the jersey and logo, pictured at this link:

make me ask the next trivia question:

Trivia Question #6: Look at the logo in the above hyperlink. In particular, look at the light blue color. It is one of the three official colors of the Albany Attack. I am not 100% sure, but I believe that color's name is trademarked. What is the name of that color?

(I am willing to give a hint at some point, but it is one of the three official colors, so if you can determine what those colors are, then you can guess which of the three that liught blue color is.)

Well, it seems that you folks need a clue. I was going to say "no pun intended", but now I'm not so sure! :)

OK, the name of the color has this format:

Yes. 33-25 reg season?

How about the franchise as a whole? Vin, how about coaching records of Albany and San Jose, who has the best win %, lowest win % etc.

Let me think this through.... (From memory...)

1999-2000 Albany 6-6, no playoffs, Terry Sanderson
2000-2001 Albany 5-9, no playoffs, Terry Sanderson (*)
2001-2002 Albany 14-2 regular season, 1-1 playoffs, Bob McMahon
2002-2003 Albany 8-8, Bob McMahon
2003-2004 SJ 10-6 regular season, 0-1 playoffs, Johnny Mouradian
2004-2005 SJ 4-12, no playoffs, Johnny Mouradian
2005-2006 SJ 5-11, no playoffs, Johnny Mouradian

So, overall, the Albany Attack went 33-25 regular season, or 34-26 overall. Those are winning percentages of 0.5690 and 0.5667 respectively.

So, yes, you are correct.

SJ, by comparison, is 19-29 regular season and 19-30 overall which translate to winning percentages of 0.3958 and 0.3878 respectively.

Broken down by coach:
(Albany) Terry Sanderson: 11-15, 0.4231, no playoffs.
(Albany) Bob McMahon: 22-10, 0.6875 regular season only; 23-11, 0.6765 overall
(SJ) Johnny Mouradian: 19-29, 0.3958 regular season only; 19-30, 0.3878 overall

(*) It's hard to fault Terry Sanderson for the 5-9 season because I believe that Josh Sanderson was injured that season. Then again, a good team has depth. Between that season and the last two SJ seasons, a serious case could be made that Gary Rosyski's fortunes are tied to Josh Sanderson being his feeder...

Frankly, I feel sorta sad for Gary because he moved to SJ, I believe, so they made a commitment to him and vica versa. If he was concerned just about his NLL career / numbers, you'd think that he'd request a transfer to TOR. If they had him... *I shudder at the thought*

As for Mouradian, what can I say? In the short run, the SJ team may not have had great success, but, in the long run, his decisions may be what is best for the franchise and league both on and off the field.... So, despite the absolute destruction of almost everything from the Albany era, I will laud him if he can, in the long run, keep that team in SJ and fiscally stable and profitable.

(SJ) Johnny Mouradian: 19-29, 0.3958 regular season only; 19-30, 0.3878 overall

2005-2006 Walt Christianson was head coach

That's right - thanks for the correction!

OK, here's the new numbers for SJ:
(SJ) Johnny Mouradian: 14-18, 0.4375 regular season only; 14-19, 0.4242 overall
(SJ) Walt Christianson: 5-11;0.3125
