So, are any of you SJS fans gonna work toward establishing a fan club next year? We did it by the 4th season. This is your 6th season! C'mon get cracking! I'll bet ownership is willing to help you get started....

No need for a fan club now!

If they move outside of northern California, this would suck.

Geez, it's a real shame that the San Jose Stealth never had a fan club....

It's sort of sad that, during the six seasons that this franchise was in San Jose, there was never any fan club. I hope the Washington Stealth can do better.

Vin - they definitely will. I just had a conversation with the Stealth about starting an official fan club in Washington. They're very much for it and starting to plan it out.

First up a name. I'll have to go back through the forums. I think some names were already thought up last season in an attempt to start again in SJ.

Second up, any and all ideas for things that worked for you in Albany as well as any other groups.

Organized road trips are bit of a stretch with Calgary being the closest team at 12 or so hours away (and crossing the Rockies in winter...). But away game viewing parties, post game drink ups, etc. will be in the works.

Vin>> During the first few seasons, I ran sjstealthfan.com and we started an unofficial fan club called the flight crew. Other board memeber sjstealthjunkie helped form the club, we tried to become official but the stealth when owned by the sharks wanted nothing to do with us and gave us the run around. It was hard to promote and the club did not due much. I got burnt out and was upset with how the owners wanted nothing to do with us or help us and I lost my interest and put them towards somewhere else....

Yeah, I remember those days. It's too bad you guys apparently didn't try and hook-up with current ownership. I am sure that they would have been on board. Attack ownership was with us...

I'm glad that things are looking up in Washington. As for stuff that "worked" here in Albany, our club was only established in the final season. There wasn't many of us and I personally was not swimming in cash because I got laid-off early in the season, so we could not contribute more financially. However, my wife and I had a website. We did have a member who was reasonably well-to-do, so he bought things like rally beads and was able to get T-shirts printed....

I'd say talk to the more established fan clubs like those of the Wings, Rochester, and the Bandits. Those folks have their sh!t together having been around for a long time. You might also want to talk to the folks in Minnesota because their group is young and they'd have any similar growing pains.

If this gets pulled together it might be worth putting something up on the old Plaid Platoon forum to see if there is any interest from Jax fans who are going to be making the jump as I am. Viewing parties in Portland have always had a few people show up. Who knows with nothing happening locally they may draw from those who need the Lax fix.

Well, I certainly hope that this team will finally have found a good home for alot of reasons. Also, I really wish that it would get an official fan club so I can "surrender the keys", so to speak, and have this forum be renamed.
