:D Some friends and I went down to Homewood field to see a classic matchup of two well know div 1 powerhouses yesterday. Of course I was stoked just being in Homewood field,home of the Bluejays. There were around 4,600 rabid Bluejay fans. A few were actually Princeton fans, but they were drowned out by the Blujay fans. What I loved besides seeing the Bluejays ahead on the scoreboard was the Hopkin fans in the 3rd qtr started a chant " OverRated" meaning they thought Princeton might have been given too much credit with their #1 preseason ranking. I'll tell you they love their lacrosse down there and the energy of just being there is electricfying. The Game was excellent, fantastic plays by teriffic athletes on both teams. It was a low scoring game, great play by senior goalies on both teams who both started their first game of their college career. Nick Martha started instead of Rob Scherr for Hopkins and Julian Gould did a good job for Princeton. It's a tough act to fill Trevor Tierney's shoes who graduated last year for Princeton. Martha made 12 saves, while Gould made 14. Hopkin's defence played very well, Princeton had a few plays where their defence was caught out of place on transition plays. The players that scored for Hopkins were Kyle Barrie, Connor Ford, Adam Doneger, kevin Boland, and Bobby Benson. the Players who scored for Princeton were Ryan boyle, Brendan Tierney, Brad Dumont, and Mark Pellegrino. B.J. Prager had a few chances but was defended very well. It was a doubleheader with Georgetown and Cornell playing the second game, but I skipped that game to rush home to make the Wing's game. I can't wait for the 16th when Hopkins will faceoff against Syracuse. If they win that game I will be extremely happy. Watchout this could be the Bluejay's year, GO HOPKINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hopkins;
who in their right mind would had voted princeton pre-season #1 anyway? princeton's recruiting, even by their own comments, has not been as strong as in previous seasons, and yet the powers-that-be still voted for the tigers. i'm no ncaa expert, but if the school has doubts, why should i disagree.
petro's freshmen could finally add a trophy to the championship mantle that has been dormant for a number of years.

Ya Doug, I don't understand it either, I guess in some peculiar way if you win a championship the previous year that is suppose to quailify you for a #1 ranking the following year.I know losing Trevor Tierney must hurt them, But I guess they figure they still have Ryan Boyle, B.J.Prager,Damien Davis and Bill Tierney that qualifies them for a #1 ranking. Well Hopkins already took care of that. Love it! Love to see JHU make it to the Finals this year.
