There were rumors going around that Konopliff was already traded to the Thunder. Benedict is playing for the SNYE Warriors (Hogansburg, NY) of the ILA

Peterborough goy four players and the Thunders 1st & 2nd round picks for next year is that because they won't be around next year or is it because no one they draft will go play there?

Either way its 2 more draft pick that the Lakers can trade to bring in more experience now.

The Thunder should have at the very least attempted to play Senior B for this season, this would have given them more of an opportunity re-establish or improve the relationship they have with the community players. Which, in turn would have made them look or play better next season(2003). Honestly, I don't think they'll be back next year, at least at the major level. Further, I believe the Thunder's lack of local players is more related to the competitive level of major lacrosse and not with the management. The local players realize that at this point in time the ILA is realistically in the hunt (Snye) for the president's Cup. And, a whole lotta years away from the Mann Cup. Of course this is only my opinion and could be wrong. Mike Benedict will stay put with Snye, Mitchell and Barnes will probably play for Snye or the Outlaws. But, the Lakers do get Bill Phillips and Shane Wannamaker 2 good major players.
