Gavin Prout of the MLL's Baltimore Bayhawks, maybe tied up with pro lacrosse and unavailable to the OLA's Brooklin Redmen until after September 1st as per this MLL press release.

Columbus, OH (July 23, 2002) - Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, today announced it will bring its brand of hard hitting, fast moving and high scoring excitement to Columbus as the two elite teams of Major League Lacrosse battle it out for the 2002 Major League Lacrosse Championship at 4:00 PM on Sunday, September 1 at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.

Last years Mann Cup ran from Sept 5 till Sept 13, so if the Redmen make "The Show", I would expect Prout to be there.

Is there not a CLA or OLA rule stating a player has to play a minimum number of games with the team in the regular season to be eligible for post season play?

Not sure but I would think at least one game would be the minimum. So, if Prout doesn't make it back to Canada for the eligibility game(s) he might not be going to the Mann (assuming Brooklin wins the OLA series).

I don't know for sure what the eligibility requirement is, but I swear I heard somewhere that you needed to be dressed for 4 regular season games to be eligible for playoffs.

I haven't seen Prout yet, and the Redmen only have two or three games left. Maybe he won't be there in the playoffs.

As far as Prout being in the Mann cup, well that's just not going to happen unless he plays for Brampton.

See everyone at the game tonight.

Playing 4 games is a WLA rule, if Brooklin wanted to they could put both Gaits, Prout, Sheer and 10 other players on the final roster and not have them play a game till Mann Cup if they thought they could get there.
