Anaheim just aquired The "THRILL"

What a tremendous gain for the storm. They gave up an all-star defensemen. Why you ask? Because they knew they were getting an all-star defensemen in return. Just look at Bill's numbers they speak for themselves. He is the best transitional defensemen in the NLL and the coaches are very well aware of what he is capable of. Bill is on the road to a complete recovery from knee surgery and will no doubt be in contention for the loosest balls in the NLL again next season. SO watch out Veltman here comes (Hoover) the Thrill!. And to top it off, check out Thrill's little brother Zack, leading the NCAA in scoring for Duke University. Imagine what Anaheim will be able to do in 3 years when Zack joins his brother. Multiple NLL championships on the horizon. Too bad Arizona wasn't patient enough to wait for Bill to recover. If you thought the Gait brothers were good you haven't seen nothin yet!

Got a little confuzzed for a second there. You're referring to Bill "The Thrill" Greer, not Chris "The Thrill" Gill... :o

There's a new THRILL in town!

Sorry Meathead but I was refering to Bill the THrill. I'm sure you weren't confused after reading past the first line though!

Atauserk 03-11-2005 05:09 PM

Doh .. i also thought you meant Gill

Colin 03-11-2005 05:45 PM

I'm afraid Gill's days of being thrilling are past.

Bill Greer, Welcome to Anaheim

Wow. "The Thrill". The next Jim Veltman. Better then the Gait Brothers. Maybe we should just send him straight to the Hall of Fame. Why bother letting him suit up for the Storm and actually play some games here.

Bill Greer, welcome to Anaheim. Obviously you have some fans who have already seen you play and think highly of you. The rest of us look forward to seeing you this Sunday. I hope that knee is healed. I look forward to seeing you at your best.

Now, about this next Jim Veltman thing. Aside from the fact that #9 in Buffalo may already have that title locked up for the next 8-10 years, the thought of Bill leading the Storm to 7 NLL championships does have considerable appeal. Yea, seeing all those Champion's Cups lined up in the lobby of the Pond sounds good to me. And no better time to start the collection than by beating the four time champion Rock this Sunday.

Hit Hard. Score Often. Go Storm.

Are you people living in the real world. Comparing a player like Bill Greer to Gait or Veltman is insulting to two of the greatest players to ever play in the NLL. Greer is a good player no doubt, but to be putting him up there with elite players like these two who have built their reputation over more than 15 years is insane. He may help the Storm in some regards but he will not be a player who makes the difference to get them in the playoffs.
Other than that, I thank Mrs. Greer for her post.

HailStorm 03-13-2005 02:28 PM

No, Greer may not be in the same league as Gait or Veltman YET, but he will still bring some great experience and transitional defence to the storm. We look forward to watching him play at the pond! Good luck today Storm!
