Default So who's it gonna be? Brampton or New West?

Who's gonna win the Mann Cup?

The Salmonbellies rolled all season long, but Brampton's got the big-name players. I know I'd be amped if I were coming out East with the Bellies and I'd have a little bit of a chip on my shoulder.

Who's your pick? You going to any of the games?

I'd like to see New West win, but its extremely difficult to win the Mann cup on the road. Brampton is stacked with stars, and NW may lose the services of a few of their players on scholarships in the NCAA which will not allow them to play in the Mann Cup. Brampton in 6 games.

as mentioned by crabman the NCAA may be the ONE who really reels in the bellies..I figure ilya gajic ,cliff smith and jordan hall?? also mcbride and possibly a few more (bobby sni??) of the bellies seriously young fast skilled players MAY NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE SPAWNING GROUNDS WHERE THE HOLY GRAIL AWAITS..

if the bellies have a full roster, ive got them pulling a major upset and winning in 6. if the NCAA interveens and the bellies have their legs cut out from underneath them before the series starts, i say the Excels in 4 or 5.

Brampton in 6, even though I'd love to see the Bellies win.

Does anyone know if the series will be webcast?

I have to agree with the greenbastard I have seen the Bellies play 4 times this season with 1 hick-up, I have to ask, are there no NCAA players in the Brampton line up?

And when will it be known if there will be a webcast? and Why isn't TSN or Rogers Sportnet not carrying this. Hockey hasn't started and wuldn't it be a great springboard to getting our great sport into mainstream TV, even if its on TSN2

Thats why stations invented "sales people" Christ they can promote poker, equestrain crap, Darts. A National title should be automaticlly on CBC it owned by the government. Think Big or we'll always be on webcasts and we all know how great they are.

Putting a 7-game lacrosse series on TV and making it viable would be almost impossible. When the networks don't know how many games there are going to be, they can't schedule programming/advertising in advance. It just wouldn't be worth the cost and hassle for them.

One of the Mann Cups in the 80's was televised (I'm not sure which one) but it was turned into a single game winner-take-all just for that reason.

thats fine, but all of those have viewer counts in the millions, even the heavily (haha) advertised rock games can draw viewer counts that high, why would it be any different for the mann cup?

face it, lacrosse has no viewership on tv, therefore the stations wont do it unless someone is paying the bill, and noone has deep enough pockets to put up the money to do that right now in our leagues

so essentually what you are saying is that the horse and dart and poker community are bigger and more organized then lacrosse. I don't think so, I think that organizations like the OLA, WLA and the CLA as an overall gouverning bodies have to be more proactive in the promotion of our game. Its been identified as one of the fastest growing sports in north america but our leadership bodies just want to take in registration money and then run at a staus quo level instead of investing in a promotional scheme that would promote the game. The old addage "that is costs money to make money" seems to whofully lost here.
Youi have to stop thinking we can't or we never will, it seem that we can always find a reason we can't...its easy.

if the bellies have full line up it should be a good series, while folks back east might only be familiar with 7 or 8 names on the bellies roster, take note of Ilija Gajic,Smith,Floris,Mcbride,Bob Snider and Manning all will go top 5 in the N.L.L draft when their time comes. bellies young legs take it in 7 with Richards as series m.v.p.

NLL Insider is now reporting that the college kids can play.

It'll be a helluva series now.

I'll take the decades of experience in Brampton over New West. Yeah New West is young but over a possible 7 games experience all ways wins out.

Uhh... not if the less experienced team is more talented. Experience is overrated.

Well, looks like they have a full roster and I am with you, don't count the Bellies out of this one. They have chemistry, talent and are playing at the top of their game. Hope it is a great series.

I saw about 11 Bellies games this year. At first, without Nucc, Conn, Seller, Dish, I thought they would have trouble getting out of the first round of the playoffs. But, when they built up the string of undefeated games, you had to sit back and go, WOW, this is a T-E-A-M!! Yes, they are young, but they are fast and they are tough. They are also very disciplined. They have got quick feet and quick hands. They have leadership. Chris Gill has been an unbelievable leader on the floor and in the dressing room. The team has chemistry. They have goaltending. Tyler Richards has been a WALL in the pipes. McBride and Floris, the Gajics, Cliff Smith and on and on. These guys have shown up to play game in and game out, every shift!

Can Brampton check all their egos at the door if they get stung early? Will they whine a little bit? Will they be put off their game? If the Bellies take one from the Excels in Game 1 or 2, I am going to say New West in 7.

Mann Cup #25 - party at my house!!
