Default how mark steenhuis saved the nll...

i was reminding myself of the great game we had btwn col/phi - just wonderful stuff no matter the outcome. and yet for a few years btwn 2000 - 2005 would that kind of gamne even be played? that was the dead ball era of the nll as every team went o/d to copy the success of the rock and even the 2001 wings played it the same as well to a certain extent. its not that the league didn't have quick players but the idea of keeping guys on the floor stretching the other team til they break was a relic from the old mill.
i remember the 1st time i saw philly get tortured by mark w/ the bandits. the crowd wanted his blood as he was torturing us w/ the breaks as we stumbled to get our players on/off the floor. thankfully, the o/d is becoming a relic as more teams go to full-floor. so the next time you see you a goal scored on an end-to-end rush, give a little thought to mark.

Mark definitely is one of the leagues best players.

He can play O, D, PP, PK, get loosies, and is tireless.

Sure, he has his bad games [like everyone], but he is an overall great player, and I hope he stays a bandit a long, long time!

You can hate him for being on our team, but you can't say you wouldn't want him on yours. He an amazing transition player, clutch, and great to have on penalty kills.

Hes also 4th in the NLL in goals currently.

Oh yeah, for those calling him a ball hog, he has more assists than goals. He can dish it too. You should seen the nasty pass he had last night after he drew a double team and dished to a wide open Tavares who buried it.

Steenhuis is a great athlete and individual player, but there are so many other right handed players I would prefer to have on my team rather than Steenhuis

He has certainly improved to a much higher standard and is certainly a very dangerous transition player. I do remember commenting when Kilgour changed his role. But, yes, I can say that I have no desire for him to be on my team.

Gee, I'm sure the Bandits who defend Steenhuis on the ball hog issue never leveled those same unfounded charges on John Grant.

That pass last night was disgusting. Down right nasty, best play of the season so far...

Meh, he's a punk who will play solid D, solid O, win the odd faceoff, win the odd middleweight fight and mark somewhere up to about 60 points (More? 37 in six games so far this year, kids!).

That's my kind of punk!

Hell, the fact that he's a punk is part of the charm. He's one of the dirtiest pricks in the game yet rarely seems to get caught. The fact that he's dishing out uncalled cheap shots AND scoring in bunches has to drive his opponents absolutely frigging nuts!

Yeah, I bet he doesn't respect you either.

Glad to hear no one else would want him. Despite his flaws, I think when the game is on the line and you need to keep the ball from the other team for 30 seconds, Mark is the guy you would call on. He's also one of the most (maybe THE most) athletically gifted players in the NLL.

Oh it does, and it drives other teams fans even more nuts, and I LOVE it. Theres nothing better than going to others teams arenas, and watching them hate Steenhuis because hes good. Rochester is big on hating him and its halarious listening to their fans at the games.

Steve Toll was the Khawk killer when he was on the Rock. HE is the player from another team I always wanted here. Steenhuis is good to be sure but we don't need a ball hog on our team.
