Steenhuis goes out and runs around the crease then Wooly comes out and scores. Wooly unmasks and Steenhuis is Wooly. Maddalena is actually dressed as Steenhuis.

Dawson up for the East

A go cart prop.

Is this all gimmicks? Empty arena? Mascots? Go carts? Steel chairs? Seriously, how is this ever gonna end up on SportsCenter? At least the players aren't wearing helmets in the Skills. NHL should take notice.

I think the two minute breakaway competition was the best. Leyshon did well with those guys ripping on him for two straight minutes. The trick shot took a bit long but they tried some original things even though Shattler won on relatively basic shots in the competition. Not sure what they were thinking about the competitors for the fastest shot. The accuracy was okay, targets could have been bigger. The goalie shot contest was over pretty quick, which was good.

I think they could have paced the event a bit better, that would have helped.

It was a basic breakaway shot drill you may see in a practice just with the best of the best in the world. Definitely stepping on a ball could have been an issue but they spaced them apart enough to avoid it.

More dangerous may have been if Steenhuis trips in the Wooly mascot costume. Heck he still wore during the fast break competition and it looked like he was having a great time doing it.

Yes, they limited seating to the side of the field behind the benches.

And I must admit, I don't like Duckfeet, but that whole thing with Wooly was very creative and they pulled it off nicely. Even if many of us were wondering why "Steenhuis" was wearing his helmet on the bench.

Who, besides you, really gives a ****? I was there, I enjoyed it. That's all that matters.

And just as importantly, it looked like the players were enjoying themselves.

A little known fact is that Steenhuis is actually the guy under the Buzz costume, except for the Buffalo games at the Xcel.

Just how much can you do in a trick shot competition anyway? The NBA has their dunk competition but that's so boring because all you see is players bounce the ball off the floor in a self-alley oop pass or bank it off the backboard. All the good moves have been done so players have to come up with something new.

I would think that lacrosse would be more difficult for trick shots.

Absolutely hilarious...even more so because Steenhuis spent the rest of the competition in the mascot uniform. Let's hope he wears it again next time he plays against Philly.

They restricted us to the sections on the players side...guess they didn't want us roaming all over the arena.

I think the turnout was pretty good, actually. More people there than at the Titans game I went to at the Garden.

My boy and I had a blast. It was cool being the loudest fans of The East.

Overall, an amazing experience. My son really did enjoy it the whole thing, so by that measure it was a great event.

A couple pix...including the Dallas jersey they're [silent] auctioning off...bids were up to about $300 the last time I checked:
