I was thinking Styres would hold on to Gajic for the year. If Vancouver enters the league next year as rumored they would get the #1 draft pick, and Styres could have sent Gajic and packaged him to vancouver for the change to draft his nephew. But perhaps that was too big a gamble to take.

Well, let me ask you something

With Grant Jr coming back, as well as Gait and Prout, on the team, how strong will this franchise is gonna be?

I do expect this franchise to be stronger than 2009 7-9 campaign in which they took the Eastern Division Champions, NY Titans (now Orlando Titans) to OT in exciting first round game at MSG.

I would go so far as to call the K-hawks the early favorites to win the East. The Swarm aren't the only team who wheeled and dealt their way to an embarrassment of riches heading into 2010.

Well, with JGJ coming back you can guess that Gary will be headed back to the shelf. Prout needs to be the focal point of an offense to really produce. The year he played with Gary, he was not the force he has been. I would not be surprised to see Gavin's number decrease drastically in the hawks lineup. Just my thoughts.

It seems like Colorado gave up an awful lot to get a rookie and a 1st round pick. I think they got hosed in the deal.

Gajic is only a rookie in the NLL. Has had 2 superior years playing for New Westminster in the WLA, and is a better all round player and younger then Prout. How is Rochester going to find enough shots and playing time for all their offence. Who's on the power play? Better question who won't be on the power play? They have at my count 14 forwards going into camp, who gets cut, who sits, and who plays. This could cause problems and hurt egos.

Most knowledgeable lacrosse minds will tell you summer ball means jack-squat.
It remains to be seen who gets the better deal here. Fly-ins are becoming less attractive, regardless of their stature, and I'm sure that also came into play.
Having the trifecta brothers is also a great advertising tool for the Mammoth.

Welcome Back AP...and "Welcome Back" Prout...at least to Rochester, this time its on the carpet and not the turf.

I have to agree with whats been said so far...its gonna be busy in camp and /or the players box...but I do agree somebodys probably going so we can sure up an already decent D.

The only thing I ever asked if the Mammoth traded Prout was to get an overwhelming offer.

While I think I. Gajic has a lot of potential, this offer was particularly underwhelming.

Care to name one of these "knowledgable lacrosse minds?" Senior summer ball is very close in quality to the NLL, and even better when it gets deep into the playoffs. Sure the style is a little different, but it's a better indicator than anything as to how well a player will do in the NLL.

my understanding is that the regular season of summer ball is ho-hum, the mann series is a different level of competition.

It doesn't matter what time of year it is a game between Brampton and Peterboro, New Westminster and Coquitalim etc., is never ho-hum. These are the best against the best and are a great indicator if a guy can handle the NLL.

Hmmm where shall I start? Josh Sanderson, John Tavares, Gary Gait, John Grant, Colin Doyle...to name just a few. Maybe the attitude is different out West but these guys don't even bother showing up until playoffs. To say that someones summer will be a good indicator of their performance for the upcoming winter is plain ignorant.

sanderson-18 games-81pts. williams - 17 games-72pts. evans 16 games- 68pts. tavares even played 12 regular season games. Grant was nursing his knee and Gait hasn't played Senior for a while. But more importantly you get to see how young guys like Jamieson, Syd Smith, Billings, Delgarno, etc. compete against the established pros. If you don't think GMs use these games as an indicator of these young guys ability to play in the NLL maybe you should take a look in the mirrior if you want to see ignorant.
