I can see Francis moved to Defense and faceoffs.
You have to love his physical presence, and with him not playing much the 2nd half of the season, showed on the floor. When he is on D, you could see players afraid to get hit by him.

Take out Joe Smith or Swamper, and looks right to me.
Then again, all what Darris sees preseason.

I'd definitely have to agree with that, the opposition looks twice when Francis is on the floor and once the gloves, helmet, elbow pads............etc come off theres no doubt who's winning!!

I liked Francis on faceoffs too. I would like to see what he'd be able to do over a stretch of games on them.

I agree with everyone saying Francis should be playing. But what do you guys think about Jacob's or Croswell's chances?

To everyone: thanks for the feedback so far. Keep it coming! Francis was the one cut I had the hardest time dealing with, so it makes sense for me to put him back on the roster now that I see everyone else had the exact same problem with him being cut. I subsequently removed Joe Smith from the roster to make room for Francis.

So the notable cuts are now Jacobs, Croswell, and Joe Smith...interestingly enough, the only remaining NLL Dispersal Draft picks of the Bandits still with the team.

I don't think the Bandits are done making moves yet. When they are we will have a better idea of who will be on the roster. Darris has said repeatedly that he wants the D to be younger, bigger, stronger and faster. He wants better match-ups against NCAA-style players. Look for Corbeil and Priolo to be given every opportunity to not just make the roster, but to play. And for guys who aren't younger, bigger, stronger and faster to have an uphill battle for PT.

P.S. Brandon Francis was 85-210 on faceoffs for the season. Not exactly irreplaceable. Joe Smith takes draws and fits the younger and faster part of the picture..........just sayin'

Agreed. I wouldn't speculate on this until we see a training camp roster. And we know they aren't afraid to make a trade or two so it could change.

true on the trade comments.. Not to mention I liked what Joe Smith added last year, cutting him I think would be a mistake.

Any quick opinions on the Frank Resetarits move? Some of the kids I know at work played with and against him in high school. Six-two with muscle gives us some needed size. Has he improved on the indoor game?

Hard to say, it seemed he was in the shadow of many good players in San Jose. I think he could be a very good player given the right setting, on the plus side he had 4 GWG in 2008 which ranked third in the league, only A. Iannucci and S. Pollock had more. I think the potential to be clutch is there considering about 1/4 of his goals were GWG (4/17).

Getting this guy for a 3rd round pick was a steal. His former team gave him away to reward him for traveling to the West coast for his years there. I, for one, am thrilled. Now we just have to get his brother, Joe.

I can see changes coming from goalie to offense. Based on how some have performed last year and this summer in the OLA. When training camp begins is when Darris will start making those decisions as far as make up of the team. The GM will be manning the phone. All deals this year will be made for the FUTURE of the Bandits, not the present. When January 9th rolls around the world of Bandits lacrosse could take a whole NEW direction!

I could see Dostie being cut in favour of Croswell or Jacobs.
Dostie has had some injuries which have slowed him down the past few seasons.

Croswell Has bad knees and is older.
Jacobs is soft going to the inside.

What else you got?

This team needs to be faster, younger, and more athletic. The rest of the NLL is catching onto this concept.

I think the roster is about set. I would be surprised if they made any trades now, although there may be a free agent signing or two. I think they want to make a run at Cody Jamieson next summer, so he's gonna need all the talent he can for that. That is shaping up to be a good battle between Buffalo and Rochester to see who might get him. Not sure why myself, I saw him four or five times this summer and he didn't impress me, but hey, what do I know?

The Monster has essentially been named the starter in goal. Mike Thompson has fallen into disfavour with the organization. The Bandits will take a closer look at G Findlay Wilson. I watched him play during the summer at the Presidents' Cup for the Niagara Hawks. This guy is the real deal.

Don't count on that...There will be alot of compitition for roster spots and, I predict, a few surprises.

I guess Gavin Prout won't be taking one of the Bandits roster spots, he' now in Edmonton. Click here, at least until he becomes a Free Agent next year.
Yes, there had been some speculation about him coming here.

Score one for Ammispapa. The first surprise was just announced, Cory Bomberry signed with Rochester. I wonder what's next.
